Constructed my own carbon fibre mini 6.50

During a race stopover in France, I saw these crazy 6.5m boats that people raced across oceans alone and decided I needed one in my life, though couldn't afford to buy one, so needed to build one. 

I had no idea how to build a boat but introduced myself to NZ boat builder Chris Sayer who was about to build his own mini and convinced him to let me help him by day and me then replicate the same on my boat next to his by night. 

6 months later I had built my very own carbon fibre mini racing yacht. With a fair bit of help and guidance along the way.
